  • VULNERABILITY CALEG / POLITICAL PARTY SYSTEM IN GENERAL ELECTION 2019? *

Vote Count Method * SAINTE LAGUE * Election 2019

The vote counting method in the 2019 Election will use Sainte Lague.

This method was introduced by Andre Sainte Lague, a French mathematician.

This method divides the seat by dividing the incoming sound to 1,3,5,7 dst.

In contrast to previous electoral methods, where in the previous elections BPP (voter divider number) was used.

How to calculate the seat is very simple.

EXAMPLE:

If in one plot there is allocation of 7 seats, with the vote on the electoral dumpil:

  1. A total party won 28,000 votes.
  2. Party B won 15,000 votes.
  3. Party C won 10,000 votes.
  4. Party D earned 6,000 votes.
  5. Party E 3000 votes.
  • First Chair *

Then the first chair is obtained by division 1.

  1. Party A 28,000 / 1 = 28,000.
  2. Party B 15,000 / 1 = 15,000
  3. Party C 10,000 / 1 = 10,000
  4. Party D 6,000 / 1 = 6,000
  5. Party E 3,000 / 1 = 3,000

So the first seat belongs to party A with 28,000 votes.

  • Second Chair *

For seat 2, because A had already won in the 1st division.
Then next, A will be divided by 3, while the others are still divided by 1.

The 2nd seat count is:

  1. Party A 28,000 / 3 = 9.333
  2. Party B 15,000 / 1 = 15,000
  3. Party C 10,000 / 1 = 10,000,
  4. Party D 6,000 / 1 = 6,000
  5. Party E 3,000 / 1 = 3,000

Then the 2nd seat belongs to party B with 15,000 votes.

  • Third Chair *

Now the 3rd seat, Party A and B have got seats with division 1, then they remain with division 3, while the other party votes still with the 1st division.

Then the 3rd seat count is:

  1. Party A 28,000 / 3 = 9.333.
  2. Party B 15.000 / 3 = 5,000.
  3. Party C 10,000 / 1 = 10,000
  4. Party D 6,000 / 1 = 6,000
  5. Party E 3,000 / 1 = 3,000

So here the 3rd seat belongs to the C party with 10,000 votes.

  • Fourth Seat *

The vote count for the 4th, A, B and C seats has got seats with division 1, then they will go into division 3.

  1. Party A 28,000 / 3 = 9.333
  2. Party B 15.000 / 3 = 5,000
  3. Party C 10,000 / 3 = 3,333
  4. Party D 6,000 / 1 = 6,000
  5. Party E 3,000 / 1 = 3,000

Then the 4th seat belongs to A with 9,333 votes.

  • Fifth Seat *

Going to seat 5, Party A has got 1st and 3rd vote, then A will be divided into 5, B and C divided by 3, while D and E are still on the 1st division.

The 5th seat count is:

  1. Party A 28,000 / 5 = 5,600.
  2. Party B 15.000 / 3 = 5,000
  3. Party C 10,000 / 3 = 3,333
  4. Party D 6,000 / 1 = 6,000
  5. Party E 3,000 / 1 = 3,000

So party D gets the 5th seat with 6,000 votes.

  • Sixth Chair *

Seats 6, A divided by 5. B, C and D divided by 3, and E is still divided by 1.

  1. Party A 28,000 / 5 = 5,600.
  2. Party B 15.000 / 3 = 5,000.
  3. Party C 10,000 / 3 = 3,333
  4. Party D 6,000 / 3 = 2,000
  5. Party E 3,000 / 1 = 3,000

Here A gets a seat again, because the voice is 5,600.

  • Seventh Chair *

While the calculation of the last seat, A gets a division of 7, because the division of 1.3 and 5 has produced seats.

Then the calculation of the chair to 7 is:

  1. Party A 28,000 / 7 = 4,000
  2. Party B 15.000 / 3 = 5,000.
  3. Party C 10,000 / 3 = 3,333
  4. Party D 6,000 / 3 = 2,000
  5. Party E 3,000 / 1 = 3,000

So party B gets the last seat with 5,000 votes.

  • Total seat acquisition: *
  1. Party A = 3 seats.
  2. Party B = 2 seats.
  3. Party C = 1 seat.
  4. Party D = 1 seat.
  5. Party E = 0 seats.
