In 1823 this species was first known in France, by a man named Henri Antoine Jacques.
The name Bourbon itself comes from l'Île de Bourbon, now known as Réunion which is a territory of French colonies that reside in the Indian Ocean close to Madagascar.
This type is the result of a cross between Old Blush China with Autumn Damask.
Special, this type can be flowered many times in a year.
