People are usually caught up and carried away with that temporary happiness of graduation and tend to lose focus of the permanent one. Its so unfortunate that we live in a society where human rights or life holds no value to its leaders. The state of education in this country has totally become dilapidated and catastrophic.
Contrary to this, about sixty years ago, institutions were highly recognized for their outstanding morals and academic excellence. Students were greatly rewarded with job offers and opportunities such as government sponsored scholarships etc.The country took pride in her educational standards. There were no self centered leaders, we had leaders who recognized our diversity and respected our differences, the system of schooling progressed smoothly and achieved a remarkable landmark.
Within a span of two decades, comes the age of exploitation in the educational sector with the introduction of structural adjustment programs such as privatization and so value was gradually degenerating from our institutions. Our brains were being drained out, our schemes no longer meet international standards.
My alma mater for instance, has her affairs being governed and overseen by two governors yet she suffers greatly in their hands.There has been a continous tussle about who gets the ownership of the school, funds are not being released to the school which forces workers to go on incessant indefinite strike and with schools abandoned, lecturers seek employment elsewhere and students engage in whatever activities they deem fit.
They waste our times and resources. One constant solution that they have resulted to is the continuous increment in school fees. They not only abused the power we gave them but have continuously played dirty politics with our lives.
And when students eventually graduate, They are mandated to go on a year government slavery in locations not pleasing to them.
Afterwards, graduates rooms the streets in search of jobs and with no jobs to do, they remain in a state of confusion and regret.

The fate of graduates is uncertain and in possible jeopardy because of the state of education he/she has attained in a country with cruel leaders.
Here is my piece of advice to not only graduates but also to students who would later become graduates...
Its no longer the era of certificate, this is the era of what you can actually do for yourself either with what you have learnt in school or what you know how to do by yourself. Be it anything, just let it gainfully employ you and make your life worthy of emulation.
Life is about identifying opportunities and acting fully on them. Success starts with a mindset followed by actions and continuous actions.
Eric Thomas once said;
"When You Want To Succeed As Bad As You Want To Breathe,Then You'll Be Successful."
There is nothing more dangerous than that of a made up mind.
Make up your mind to succeed. We only live once. If you do it right, once is more than enough.
Take your first step to the direction of your Dreams. The best time was yesterday, another best time is Today. It could be the only opportunity you've got!!
