Near Salem, Oregon, aside fields of hops, lies the Champoeg State Park. It is a center of history, recreation and family events. We found this trail mostly grown over and with tree roots poking through the paved path. Since there was a trail above it, it seemed less used. It was beautiful and serene along the river. A frisbee golf course and mass picnic tables scatter along the riverside. Little pockets of cottonwoods and large pines define the meandering meadow and valley forest. Great for biking.
