INDONESIA - President Joko Widodo said the problem of currency depreciation is not only happening in Indonesia. According to him, other countries are also experiencing similar things like Indonesia.
"All countries are experiencing the same thing," said Jokowi in Rokan Hilir, Riau.
Jokowi said, currency depreciation occurs one factor because of the war trade between America and China.
"The increase in US interest rates that they assure may be three or four times, all these countries are experiencing the same thing," said Jokowi.
The rupiah exchange rate weakened against the US dollar this afternoon. Quoting Bloomberg, the rupiah traded at Rp 14,084 per US dollar.
Meanwhile, the Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) closed up 2.3 percent or 133.22 points at 5,907.94. A total of 226 shares traded higher, 185 stocks weakened and 93 shares stagnant.
Trading volume reached 9.07 billion shares with transaction value of Rp 9.14 trillion. The net sell by foreign investors in all markets reached Rp 328.17 billion and in the regular market Rp 202.43 billion.
