An iguana is a kind of lizard that lives in the tropics of Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. The first time they were mentioned by an Austrian naturalist Josephus Nicolaus Laurenti in 1768.there are 2 different species of this type of lizard: the green iguana and the small iguana antilles.

The two lizard species have skin folds beneath the jaw, a hardened bunch of skin that lined the backside up to the tail, and the "third eye" in his head. the eye is referred to as the parietal eye, which is like a milestone on its head. Behind her neck is a small scale that resembles a long nail, and is called a tuberculate scale. Iguanas also have large round scales on their cheeks called subtimpani sheaths.

The iguana has good vision and can see shapes, shadows, colors, and movements at great distances. Iguanas use their eyes to steer them across dense forests, to find food. They also use their eyes to communicate with members of the same species.

they respond to visual stimuli of colors such as orange, yellow, pink, and blue that are present in the substance of their diet.

The iguana's ear is called the tympanum, which is the iguana ear drum and is located on the upper right of the subtropical sheath and behind the eyes. this is a very thin and delicate body part of the iguana, and very important for his hearing.

They are often difficult to know about because of their ability to integrate with their environment. Its natural green color is very helpful in hiding itself from predators.
