Self-esteem vs. self-sabotage

in esteem •  7 years ago

Self-sabotage is one of the many ways that keeps us from having a healthy and strong self-esteem. What does self-sabotaging mean?

We sabotage ourselves when we procrastinate for example. We get in our own way – sometimes more and sometimes less subtle. We also could call it our inner critical voice that keeps us from having a good self-esteem.

Sometimes it is like that, we are our worst enemies keeping our self-esteem low and defeat ourselves. What can we do?

We can look at what self-esteem does to us. Self-esteem makes us feel that we deserve all the good things in life. This behavior keeps our motivation high to go after more of those good things and moments.

Also what we can do is to identify our self-sabotaging thoughts and then to act against them. It’s our conscious choice of not longer falling victim to that critical inner voice that limits us and hurts us in our lives.
