Beautiful horse drawn carriages like this one are a common sight around the streets of Melbourne, Australia. There are a variety of tour packages available which include, A Garden Highlights Tour, an Extended Garden Tour, a Premium City and Garden Tour .......and a Deluxe Romantic Tour. For keen photographers, I think this is an ideal way to see the sights with no windows in the way and many opportunities for uninterupted views, providing the weather was fine. Most of these carriages accomodate six people.
The premium city and garden tour takes approximately 30 minutes and takes you to Melbourne's most renowned historic gardens whilst taking in major landmarks such as The Princess Bridge overlooking the Yarra River, Victorian Arts Centre, King Domain Gardens, Shrine of Remembrance, Treasury building, the historic Collins Street shopping precinct and the very trendy Flinders Lane which include many notable buildings.

Yes you are quite right, sometimes it's nice to be slowly drawn along, having the time to admire the scenery and take photos as you go, not to mention, you see much more being slightly elevated.
