Buah ini digunakan untuk alat bumbu masakan utama di Aceh, seperti garam juga. Karena belimbing terlalu mudah tumbuh di Aceh, maka ada dua tradisi yang terkait buah ini, yaitu: kuwah asam keueueng atau kuah sayur asam.
