In ancient days, Myanmar men wore their hair long, and were tattooed.

If a man's wife again and again gives birth only to girls, that man has marital right to marry another woman. In accordance with the Myanmar Marital Custom, if a man is powerful and afford to keep more than one wife, he can marry to many a wife. But in practice, Myanmar like monogamy.
​ေယာက်္​ား​ေလးမ်ားသည္​ ရဟန္​းျပဳႏိုင္​သည္​ဟူ​ေသာ ဗုဒၶဘာသာမွလာသည္​့ အယူအဆ​ေၾကာင္​့ ​ေယာက်္​ားမ်ားသည္​ မိန္​းမမ်ားထက္​ ပို၍ျမတ္​သည္​ဟု အယူအဆ ျမန္​မာ့လူမႈဘဝတြင္​ အျမဲ႐ွိ၏။ သမီးမ်ားသာ​ေမြးၿပီး ​ေယာက်္​ား​ေလး မ​ေမြးပါက ခင္​ပြန္​းျဖစ္​သူသည္​ သား​ေယာက်္​ားရ႐ွိ​ေစရန္​ ​ေနာက္​အိမ္​​ေထာင္​ျပဳခြင္​့႐ွိသည္​။ ျမန္​မာတို႔၏ လက္​ထပ္​ထုံးစံတြင္​ ​ေယာက်္​ားသည္​ ဘုန္​းတန္​ခိုး႐ွိပါက သို႔မဟုတ္​ ​ေကြၽး​ေမြးျပဳစုႏိုင္​ပါက မိန္​းမအ​ေရအတြက္​ အကန္​ ့အသတ္​မရွိ ယူႏိုင္​၏။ သို႔​ေသာ္​ လက္​​ေတြ႕တြင္​ ျမန္​မာတို႔ ထိမ္​းျမားလက္​ထပ္​​ေသာ စနစ္​သည္​ တစ္​လင္​တစ္​မယားစနစ္​သာ ျဖစ္​ပါသည္​။
