Era of Virus-miners

Regularly getting acquainted with the fresh analysis of companies specializing in information security, I completely agree in a new trend of widespread distribution of viruses-miners. Fashionable until recently, cryptographers have lost ground and in the last quarter only one malicious attempted to get through to us.

From the point of view of the average user, I would probably support the idea of replacing advertising content with reasonable mining by agreement, when visiting sites. Resource owners who make such an offer can translate the usability of their portals to a completely different level. Of course, there are various possibilities for blocking advertising, but on the moral side, you seem to be using not only free of charge, but generally unprofitable for the owner.

There is also an experience of open browser-based mining on some public portals and charitable foundations. Someone suggests installing additional applications and screensavers, thereby supporting development. Of course, the cost of energy resources spent can be approximately comparable to that you would yourself have sacrificed funds, but here the human factor, the effect of novelty and involvement in something more is affecting.

Coming back to the virus attacks, it is surely better to infect the miner than to lose for example the home archive of photographs or working documents. Of course for gamers, the choice is not so obvious, because often miners are stitched into pirated versions of games and take up additional resources, reducing the performance of all systems, but again this is a transition to special cases. It's unlikely that any casual toy will start to lag terribly by launching parallel hidden processes.

For data centers, this is of course a new headache, because their high-performance systems look at the eyes of many hackers and this is not an innocuous attempt of employees to mock on any supercomputer. The threat now comes not only from the outside, but also from within. All service personnel can be tied up and regular internal and external audits will be required.

Nevertheless, for the average user can come quiet times. The yield from viruses-miners, judging by the rapid growth is very high, and the risks are much lower. Of course, all the holders of crypto-active and exchange are under threat today, but such is the fate, there are always those who wish to take possession of the fact that you have, in spite of the development of new technologies. Be vigilant and careful
