Cai would dragged the goods with one hand, while holding his mother with another hand. His story is well-known among his colleagues, who would often keep an eye on Yang during Cai's shift.“At that time, my mother had a clear mind and she usually stayed at home or went outside for a walk,” Cai told The Cover. However, Yang began to have cognitive disorder and memory problems. Gradually, she lost the capability of taking care of herself.
As a result, every year from January to April, Yang would stay with Cai and join him at work. However, this system did not come without inconveniences.
"When we made deliveries to the office building, the security guard often refused to let my mother in," Cai said. "Then I would ask if he can take care of my mother; if not, would you take the responsibility of any accident?"
Normally, under Cai's persistence, the guard would eventually let his mother enter to the building with him.Yang Suxiu, Cai’s mother, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease seven years ago, and was unable to take care of herself, reported The Cover.
“My mother has dedicated her whole life for the family. It is my responsibility to take good care of her, no matter how hard it is,” Cai told The Cover.
