THE BIGGEST LOVE STORY OF VIETNAM WAR

One afternoon, a mortar shell landed in an orphanage in a small Vietnamese village. An orphanage officer and two children were immediately killed, several other children were injured, including a little girl who was around 8 years old.

People from the village immediately asked for medical help from a nearby city. Finally, a US Navy doctor and a nurse from France who happened to be in the city were willing to help. With a Jeep containing medicines and medical supplies they left for the orphanage.

After seeing the little girl's condition, the doctor concluded that the child was in a very critical condition. Without fast action, the child will soon die of blood loss. Blood transfusion is the best way to get out of this critical period.

The doctor and nurse immediately held a brief test of people in the orphanage - including children, to find the blood type that matched the little girl. From these tests found several children who have a match of blood with the little girl.

The doctor, who was not fluent in Vietnamese - tried hard to explain to the children - that the little girl could only be helped by using the blood of one of the children. Then, with various sign languages, the medical team asked if any of the children were willing to donate blood to the little girl who was seriously injured.

The request was responded with a silent speech. After a while, a child raised his hand slowly, but in doubt he lowered his hand again, even though a moment later he raised his hand again.

"Oh, thank you," the nurse broke. "What is your name ?"

"Heng," replied the child.

Heng was then laid on a stretcher, his arms rubbed with alcohol, and then a needle was inserted into his vein. During this process, Heng lay stiff, not moving at all.

However, a few moments later he sobbed, and quickly covered his face with his free hand.

"Are you in pain, Heng?" Asked the doctor. Heng shook his head, but soon Heng cried again, this time louder. Once again the doctor asked if the piercing needle made him hurt, and Heng shook his head again.

But the cry did not stop, even more heartbreaking. Heng's eyes closed tightly, while his hands tried to close his mouth to hold back sobs.

The medical team became worried, something must be wrong. Luckily a Vietnamese nurse arrived soon. Seeing the little boy who looked depressed - he spoke quickly in Vietnamese. The Vietnamese nurse listened attentively to the child's answer, and then the nurse explained something to Heng with an entertaining tone of voice.

The boy began to stop crying - and gazed softly at the Vietnamese nurse's eyes for a while. When the Vietnamese nurse nodded - there was relief in the face of Heng's face.

Looking up, the nurse said softly to the American doctor, "He thought he would die. He misunderstood. He thinks you asked him to give all his blood so that the little girl lives. "

"But why does he still want to do it?" Asked the French nurse in surprise.

The Vietnamese nurse again asked Heng ... and Heng replied briefly:

"He is my best friend .."
