December 24th, 2019(est.) — Last payment day for nodes which have not been updated.
We encourage all Ether-1 Node Operators to update to Kronos as soon as possible in order to not miss any rewards after the date of the hard fork. The day of the hard fork will be the last day which all nodes prior to version 1.3.0 will be paid.
Currently, version v1.2.2-Ether1-Trinity and v1.3.0-Ether1-Kronos of the Ether-1 geth version are being paid daily block rewards. The night of the hard fork will be the last day on which version v1.2.2-Ether1-Trinity will be paid. Going forward, only version v1.3.0-Ether1-Kronos will be paid.
Last day’s payout for all of our nodes is available at https://nodes.ether1.org/
How to Update to Kronos
Updating to v1.3.0-Ether1-Kronos is very simple and the process has not changed since the last update.
Regular Installation Update
People who have installed the Ether-1 node software directly on their Linux servers can follow this guide: https://docs.ether1.org/masternodes/updating-ether-1-nodes
You can check that you have the latest version by running: geth version
Unit Installation Update
People who are using the Unit node management software have 2 options to update, an easier one and a harder one
1. You can right-click your Ether-1 nodes and use the “reset” option. Due to changes in the upstream updates to the geth database, this update breaks the way the block number is reported. The easiest way to fix it is to use the “reset” option. More time will be taken to synchronize your node again but you will not lose any rewards due to this
2. Unit nodes can also be properly updated by running “full update” on the Ether-1 nodes. Once that’s finished, stop the node and run the command shown below before starting it again (command is single line):
rm -r /mns/<nodeid>/containers/<nodetype>/data/etho/geth/chaindata/
