What has happened to Etherium(ETH) and Bitcoin(BTC)

What has happened to the big big in the crypto sphere BTC and Ether?
Seems like everyday i check out the exchanges, there is more and more red candles appearing , These giants seem to have stagnated for a while now and starting to down trend. So where will it end, my first thoughts are that BTC will not drop below the $2000 mark and Etherium will not go past $200, but these beasts are closing in on these prices almost daily now.

I put this down to two current issues, the first is as we know being worked on as we speak, Segwit for BTC and the etherium issues on the network are rumours that there are currently to the many companies using their blockchain all at once, these include the ever popular token sales via ICO's that are popping up all over the place due to huge demand form token popularity and the other i would say is the lack of miners to confirm the transactions, this has also increased the Gas Price, this is the amount you pay per unit of gas. TX fee = gas price, gas limit & is paid to miners for including your TX in a block. Higher the gas price = faster transaction, but more expensive. Note as of writing the Default is 21 GWEI

The question is this?
How or when will these issues be rectified, well we know BTC segwit's hard fork is due for August 1st 2017. But what, if anything is being implemented in the case for Etherium to ease the delays on the network.

And will there be a slow decline in both currencies during these next few months.

I ask you the steemit community

Whats your thoughts?
Are there other coins that are worth the time looking at and why?
Will tokens take over cryptocoins?
Will tokens destroy Etherium's block chain with total overload in the future and if so what other options will there be?

Thanks
