⚠ Warning classicetherwallet.com is stealing your private keys

in ethereum •  8 years ago  (edited)

A hacker called domain registry and impersonated the owner of Classic Ether Wallet to hijack the site. Classic Ether Wallet domain was hijacked via social engineering. Addresses and keys created before today are safe. But site is unsafe at present moment.

The hijacked site uses code to copy private key which is typed in by user and sends it to the hacker.

Do not use it. No need to move coins from wallets created earlier. Just do not use the site currently.

If you must send ETC,  you can use https://myetherwallet.com  and switch to ETC node or use back up site https://ethereumproject.github.io/etherwallet/ .
