Buying and selling 115.891 Ethereum on Poloniex. Coincidence?

in ethereum •  7 years ago

I'm just scanning the sell/buy orders on poloniex and see an identical amount of ethereum being sold/bought for USD. Its a very small chance statistcally that there are 2 different people buying/selling a specific decimal amount of Ethereum at different prices. Most likely its the same guy that had cash and ethereum on poloniex and by accident pressed both buy same amount of eth and then realised its a mistake as he was supposed to sell it and then sold that amount of eth for a different price. Now if its an error like that he would have cancelled the trade within a minute not wanting to loose out but it lasted a while about 7-8 minutes till the price reached the sell order part. The price difference was about $10 between the sale and buy contract.

How would you explain it as its very unlikely that 2 separate people decided to buy that amount of ehtereum which was not a nice round number but rather specific decimal?

Very good blog. Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this. Sell the coins that you know nothing about. Do proper research on any coin you buy. If the market falls at least you can hold your coins knowing they have a long term future. Personally I always use: https://www.coincheckup.com Every single coin can be analysed here based on: the team, the product, advisors, community, the business and the business model and much more. Go to: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Ethereum#analysis To see the: Ethereum Report

Could very likely be an market maker or algo trader just making a spread.

Could be I dont know it just seemed weird to me.
