Personally, I feel that true decentralization is years away from today. Although we have the ability to develop decentralized systems, regulation and society has not caught on yet.
Think about it, we have a decentralized currency, however, most people only trust to buy from coinbase. Coinbase has become the new middle man/source.

I agree. True decentralization is a system that has not yet been trusted. There have been experiments, but regular people don't know what to do with it.
