Is Ethereum is secured platform as Bitcoin ? Probably not. I know a very small about Ethereum. I'm just holding a few amounts of ETH. Today I exchanged $100 SBD from my steemit account to one of my ETH address. Shapeshift said that it was completed but I did not getting the desired amounts. Here is the shapeshift details --

All my ETH wallets are 100% mine, not controlled by any third party. And I have private keys on all my addresses. So, what is actually happened ?
Now, I have no trust on ETH platform. And also frightened to make further cash out. Any one please, suggest me - What can I do now ?

The ether network has been congested lately because of all the ICOs going on. It will probably be returned. Check again after a few days. If it is still not returned, contact shapeshift support.

I already contacted shapeshift. My question is why the tx was not broadcasted. If it is broadcasted and not confirmed due to heavy traffic of mem pool then there will be no problem. But, tx not broadcasting on the network or dropped by network immediately is not a good sign.
And also what about my ETH based tokens ? They are also not broadcasted. First tx was made by a third party Shapeshift, but, second tx was made by me. So, I'm astonished what really happened ?
Oh! sorry ... My calculation was wrong I actually lost ($100X1.7 = $170) + ($10 X 18 = $180) = $350 :)

Euh i'm new in the Crypto world and i don't understand where is the problem.
you had 0.06377304 BTC ==> 174.4 $ you exchange it to ETH and had 0.50078266 ETH ==> 169.67 $
So in the first transaction you lost 4.73$
the exchange price is a little bit high but it still not that bad, i maybe missed or didnt understand something.

I think this is a lock up of transactions in the ETH network (overload). Your Shapeshift payment may come through eventually. The ETH network is having some issues with the number of transactions per second (huge) because of all the ICOs going on.
My ETH purchase via Shapeshift yesterday took long but came through eventually.

hmm... I'm now aware of huge transaction load on ethereum network. My tx is pending for this reason. But, I use Shapeshift exchange, a third party exchanger. If ETH returned to its original source then I'll get nothing. Because. my BTC which I have sent through Shapeshift must not be returned to me.
But, yes, if it'll be broadcasted over ethereum network then everything will be fine.

Wait for a day or two. It'll either come back as failed or go through. There's a lot of network congestion in ETH since yesterday possibly coinciding with status.io ICO!

Its becase eth network has a huge traffic right now.
In case of bitcoin you don't care if you pay fee higher than other users. In case of eth as far as i know if you are single entity like shapesift all you transacions have order and and executer in order. What it means: if yours 1st transacion fee is to low to be process by the network, then all other transacions of yours will have to wait, even if they have paid enough fee.

Shapeshift doesn't publicly shows the orders it fulfils so there is no way to see what happened and you have to contact the shapeshift support but chances are you entered the wrong eth address to receive it.
Either way the problem is with the exchange and not with ethereum itself ;)
