A little after noon today, someone input an extremely large SELL order of Ethereum. Within minutes the price was driven down from over $300 to just pennies, eating up every order in the book. The price has almost fully recovered but many persons with outstanding orders on the exchange suffered losses. Others caught the price while it was very low and were able to buy Ether at pennies, making an instant massive return as the price recovered from what some are calling an orchestrated move. Coinbase has launched an investigation to see if this was someone mistake or an attempted manipulation of the market. Let this be a warning to all of us in the Crypto world. If you are not actively trading, keep your crypto currency offline in a Hardware or paper wallet.
