POOL STAKING
Ethereum 2.0 is just around the corner and with it's transitioning from POW to POS. With the many people are looking to use the oppurtunity of staking and earning rewards which can be 14.24% p.a.
To start staking you have to run a masternode with minimum of 32 ETH, a decent hardware and reliable internet connection.
Even if you deposit the ETH and start running the node and for any reason you are unable to maintain the node, a penalty can be applied by reducing the reward. If the node is offline for straight 18 days the deposited ETH can be reduced to half.
If you dont meet the requirements of 32 ETH your only option is pool staking . There are few websites which offers pool staking
The problem with pool staking is that they are control by central authority which can be very big problem in decentralized world.
ROCKET POOL
The initial development of rocket pool started in 2017. Rocket pool offers a decentralised way of staking Ethereum where the staker have the control.
It runs as a smart contract on Ethereum blockchain, where you just have to deposite the minimum 1 ETH which is then distributed and spread around the different nodes.
The risk of losing you ETH is very low because the member involve in pool will have the control.
Rocket Pool gives you three different option
- Stake your Ether
- Stake + Run Node
- Become a partner
Rocket pool is still in beta phase, The development is going on and the mainnet is projected to launch in Q4 2020
If you are a developer you can take part in it bounties program
