Perhaps, the launch was delayed due to the unforeseen support behind ETC. Releasing an app. that only supports ETH would be a colossal snub to all of the ETC supporters. But like everyone else, I am just speculating - who knows why they would release a neubulous splash-screen and countdown timer that did nothing when it reached 00:00:00:0.
