As of writing this article in Q4 2020, eth2.0 has below issues:
- Scalability:
For Scalability, ethereum mainnet has clearly been impractical with gas fees hitting All Time High. So, there have been number of Layer-2 Solutions:
a) Omisego Network: It works only for token based transfers ,and not for generalized smart contracts
b) Loopring: It works only for token based transfers ,and not for generalized smart contracts
c) xDAI network: It brings generalized smart contract solution on layer-2 ,and is based on PoA (Proof of Authority) whose details can be traced on blockscout , similar to etherscan for tracing transaction on eth mainnet. Its transaction fees is approx. 200 times cheaper than in conventional eth mainnet ,and you pay here in xDAi itself. And, I can tell you, xDAI network is going to be lot more user-darling than above two. - Privacy: Of many privacy protocols existent here like ZK-rollup (Zero Knowledge) and its enhanced succeedor Optimistic Roll-up, now community pioneers are proposing for optimistic ethereum.
- Decentralized Oracles : OCEAN is interesting project which proposes to connect big data with AI on eth core aka substrate blockchain. LINK is another interesting project, which is built on top of eth blockchain ,and proposes to connect ethereum's smart contract with real world events. It is being built and has huge potential.
- DeFi Infrastructures Built on top of it: YAM, SUSHI, UNISWAP, HONEYSWAP, BALANCER, YIELD are some examples of DeFi Infrastructures. One that I use the most connecting my metamask is https://dsa.instadapp.io/compound
- DAO: It all started with MakerDAO concept in 2018 ,and space has moved a lot with new projects like MantraDAO.

Bonus Info: Have you qualified ready yourself for honeyswap?
By the way, I swapped on honeyswap (like uniswap works on native eth blockchain, honeyswap works on xDAI blockchain).
I also contributed liquidity on it for one of pairs to qualify more for more airdrops on HNY. It is rumoured to airdrop to pre Nov. 2020 early adopters.
Btw since honeyswap works on PoA (what PoA is to PoS is same as what PoS is to PoW in terms of efficiency and economic;;PoA charges gas fees in xDAI and its 200x cheaper than what you pay in eth for same pair swap type contract, or approve type contract in eth mainnet)
