In a red sea today, ETC succeeded to keep its head up and show the highest percentage of growth out of the first 14 coins.
Further there are a few things to be noted:
1.. Callisto (CLO) Airdrops:
It was decided to distribute the initial stake of CLO between current ETC holders. They will make a snapshot of ETC blockchain at block 5500000 (approximately 5 March 2018. This depends on ETC block time and ETC hash rate changes). Then we implement the initial balance of each ETC holder in the Callisto network genesis block, so each ETC owner will receive CLO coins automatically in a 1:1 ratio to the amount of ETC that he had at block 5500000. (1)
Callisto is a protocol on Ethereum network that aims to be the 'gold' of the crypto, having a relatively stable price as a result of the staking strategy they have (owners of CLO) receive interest for staking the coin a period of time.
These being said, it is likely that ETC will remain bullish for the following period of time until around 5th of March.
2.. Few more upgrades:
March: Emerald Desktop Wallet & Warp sync in Geth
April: Beta of Emerald Mobile Wallet & Disable difficulty bomb
3.. ETC is recommended by former JPMorgan equity strategist Thomas Lee (2)
4.. Barry Silbert, CEO of Coindesk, DCG and Grayscale. (ref: his twitter account)
Now - CME also has stakes in DCG (3), but I am not insinuating anything, you can draw your own conclusions.
The other newer venture of Barry is Grayscale Investment Fund, an investment fund with 3 (sub)trusts: one for Bitcoin, one for Zcash and one for...you're right, Ethereum Classic.
Experts say ETC is likely to go beyond .005 btc within the next 2 weeks. (it sits today at .0037).
For those that do their DD regularly, the above are not new, I just wanted to put them here for our fellows that joined crypto later.
