The ethical love of Jesus: If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers

The thought of Jesus is a very deep thought, Jesus teaches us that the love of God comes from his wisdom; because God is wise, God loves with kindness. In metaphysics, wisdom is prior to love, because is loved what is known. The gospel of John describes the ethical love and how this love, like the rays of the sun, is projected towards our neighbor and all of God's creation. And this perfect love of Jesus is also a force of union between God and men, one love, one mind, one will: "But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit", 1 Corinthians 6:17.
To describe this unity or concord that is related to the good love (Agape), our Lord Jesus speaks to us about the vineyard, the vineyard in the old testament represents the people of God (Israel), the vineyard symbolizes life, progressiveness, abundance, prosperity; God is the vinedresser and the believers in Jesus are the branches of the vineyard, as Jesus explains in the gospel of John:
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you,, as whatever you wish, and it will be done for you" John 15:1-7.
Jesus is the source of the true spiritual life, the eternal life; and he calls us to the life in communion, that is, to freely share the spiritual goods, like mercy (compassion, kindness) and piety (constancy, firmness, devotion), that God with his love gives us.
