  • Emergency has been declared as protest have caused massive displacement of citizen, destruction of properties and threats against constitutional order of the country.
  • In August 2017, Ethiopia lifted a 10 month state of emergency imposed after hundreds of people were killed in anti government protest.
  • It is considered that ethnic groups living in Oromia and Amhara are against current government and PM's resignation is vital to ensure sustainable peace and democracy.
  • As even after releasing hundreds of opposition leaders the protests were not seem to be slowing down.
