Greetings,
How often do you think about words? The meaning behind them, where they come from? (origin)
Words are powerful, and sometimes the underlying meaning becomes skewed through social application. Do you under-stand comprehend? 😃
Disclaimer: I AM NOT AN ETYMOLOGIST, I JUST ENJOY STUDYING WORDS.
Self actualization is something I think about quite a bit. I'm happy to learn that my perceived meaning is pretty spot on. Let's now dissect the word Actualize.
First we'll resort to the Merriam-Webster dictionary.

It's actually very important to under-stand comprehend REAL-Ize as well.
- Fun fact: 80% of the English language is a derivative of Latin. Some interesting information on etymology

It's interesting to note the GREEK, LATIN, FRENCH roots of IZE.
And with actual we see the same thing, with the root ACT
So my etymology interpretation of the word Actualize is:
To ACT/BE in accordance to what you are aware of, and under-stand comprehend to be f-act-ual. In a literal sense.
During these tough times, I urge everyone to search for self actualization.
Thank you for reading!
If anyone has some extra knowledge on actualize that they would like to share, (or just personal interpretation) I would be thrilled to read your thoughts!
Much love! -@futuremind
Heheh, sorry this might not be an answer you're hoping for, but it's what came to mind:
Thanks for posting your thought process on actualizing.

Love it! And totally agree my friend!
I've taken a different approach lately to help people "actualize" what is going on. (We might have talked about this already, so excuse me if that is the case. My brain takes in more than I can hope to retain everyday lol)
Instead of the "Hey I know what is going on here, would you like to know?" type of approach.
I've started the approach like "Does something not seem right to you here? What do you think about having something forced on your body? Like, an intrusion with a chemical that you didn't get to see be made in the lab?"
It is AMAZING the difference with this approach, because it seems to trigger critical thinking, and instead of challenging peoples beliefs, it influences them to challenge their own beliefs! Profound.
I'm not giving up hope with this!
Thank you kindly my friend, you've helped motivate me more than you know.

That's a VERY good approach, and I think I'll experiment with it, too.
Instead of taking on a teaching role, guide them into becoming eager to learn. I think open-ended "how does it feel that _____" and "what do you think about _____" questions are great.

Have already tried and mostly-failed to make this happen. Easier said than done to change that way of thinking, haha! But it can and will happen.

Are you saying you are having a tough time taking a different approach?
If so, I get it, because there comes a point where the teaching role is going to come out regardless right? Especially if the person you are speaking with shows interest.
I get it I think, because I am also struggling with it. Spoon fed bandwagon ideology seekers (thats my own term I made up some time back) are tough cookies man. 😆

Yeah you got it. I have a tough time with new approaches in general, usually preferring to upgrade and improve upon my previous approach. I'm working on being more open the past several years, though.
And yes, eager learners (which are increasingly rare) bring out the teacher/guide/instructor. If they fall into that dynamic, I often do too. I guess in those cases, why not? It's the others who probably require the new approach(es).
I'll get another chance tomorrow. A friend is giving me a lift to a nearby dispensary - yaaaaaay! (Don't worry, it's 100% gray market. I don't support the legalized regime!)

Interesting article, are you familiar with Maslow's hierarchy of needs to do with self actualisation and reaching your highest self?

I've heard of Maslow's hierarchy, but I know nothing about it.
You've piqued my interest, I will read up on it, thank you @iansart.

It's the idea of meeting your basic needs first like safety, food, shelter before moving on to higher needs like love and sense of belonging and then ultimately self actualisation. It forms a pyramid with actualisation being at the top and basic needs at the bottom you definitely should check it out its quite interesting.
