Mother nature has taken at least 9 lives in Greece and caused destruction in neighboring towns.

Heavy rain has been hitting Greece for a week and the outcome was complete destruction and terror. According to reports, most of the people that were really affected by this were the elderly.

With no way to escape a lot of the old souls were trapped inside their homes.

This story just hit media stream so not much detail on their current status.

Holy crap, the force of nature is brutal. She strikes again.

Are our fellow Greec steemians all okay?
@iliasdiamantis, are you in the scene there?

All good here. It feels strange knowing this is so close to me, I live in Athens so it is just around the corner from me.

Good to hear! Stay safe!

Will do. At some point I will write some articles about what went wrong with Greece overall. This will make it obvious why such a catastrophe is having a so dramatic outcome in Greece, while in other countries the problem would be limited.

Life truly is precious...

This is very disheartening. My prayers to the people in need.
Thank you for shedding light on this sensitive topic @joseph
At times like this is when the world must come together as one and help those in need.

@i69withyourmumii, I couldn't agree with you more.

MY CONDOLENCES
Nature is sometimes also tired of the human behavior that endlessly disturbs him, the destruction of the forest is the main cause of the flood, by God's will for sure.
Let's take care of nature and all its biological diversity, so we can be a little avoided from disaster.

This is really sad

@joseph Most parts of the world have experience flood recently and even before, i think all we need to do is to build good drainage system before hand. At Lagos Nigeria we experience the hit early this year. @theheralds

@theheralds most parts have. But in my opinion, it's gonna take more than a better drainage system.

Mother nature,please sphere us

feeling very sad after hearing this news, hope things will change quickly

Such is life. So sad.

It seems like these natural disasters are happening once a week now. The craziest part is that there is still a large amount of people who refuse to believe in climate change. What will it take to change their opinions?

You do know that climate has changed a lot over the last 5,000 years right? Climate change exists. The solutions and some of the blame foisted into this "man made climate change" agenda is what is not all believable.

Cutting down rain forest and washing millions of tons of top soil into the gulf of mexico ARE REAL problems. The solution is not more regulation or CO2 credits. The solution is doing work like Geoff Lawton, permaculturalists and a few other "get out and do something" are doing. They live by the motto: be the change you want to see in this world.

If you really believe in the agenda hype....stopdriving cars, using grid electricity or anything that uses plastics. Oh...also , no smart devices....they use rare earth metals whose mining is typically done in very polutant and destructive ways.... just sayin.

You go from one extreme to the other. You start by saying there has been a huge climate over the last 5000 year, not due to humans. Then you finish your argument by saying if I want to make change I need to stop driving, using electricity and a cell phone, so what’s your argument?
Climate change is real, the fact that the US is the only other nation not in the Paris accord is a joke. I already don’t use a car, I take mass transportation, I recycle, I volunteer to pick up trash on a regular basis. Actions speak louder than words

Wow, after happening in Texas,USA and now Greece. This really stinks!

I hope everyone is getting moved into safety quickly!

do something on my blog i keep it up in this passion, your post r so nice.

Very Sad.

What an excellent post.

so bad for Greek people who have to suffer again while the country don't fully recover yet from their economics problems......

Wow so sad, wishing them a quick recovery from the flood.

My condolences... It is a pity when you understand that just in thousands of kilometres from you people are becoming homeless because of calamities. I wish patience those people and believe that there are many people in Greece that can help them morally and financially!!
