A few days ago, I found a story in Spanish by @pavonj that made me think about the subject of euthanasia, that act of ending a life or (according to the point of view of an acquaintance of mine) a murder for mercy.

After reading it, I commented that it had made me remember to think that there are times when death is the last mercy, in fact I remembered that there was a dagger with that name that was used to give death with a shot to those who were seriously injured and only they had a long and painful agony ahead of them.

Although the dagger of mercy or "left hand", very typical of the Iberian peninsula, comes from a certain idea of medieval cavalry, I think it was during the revival that it became popular, unfortunately I remember that it later degenerated its symbolism to a somewhat problematic one , because it happened to be used as a hidden weapon (in boots, capes and other garments) and used in street fights and some people even considered it a weapon of quarrelsome ruffians ... What a change, from a noble weapon to one of ruffians.
Today it can be considered a bit wild to kill "in cold blood", but I dare not judge ... euthanasia may be an option when pain and grief is the only thing that awaits those who suffer agony before the that nothing can be done to relieve it.

The same is hard to think that after the person killed the other character will have to carry that memory with him, it makes me think of a veterinary friend when he has to sleep a pet because there is nothing more to do and the least is to reduce pain or put an end to it ... when we take that to the human case it gets even more complicated.
I am not in favor of killing, but I do not know if it may happen that in a moment of pain I prefer to end the suffering, I do not want such a substitution to ever occur, but it will only be at that moment that I will know what my reaction would be Well, we can never assure that we will do until we do.
If you ask me, I would say that (sometimes) euthanasia is the best favor we could do for someone who suffers, and will inevitably continue to suffer until death.
It's a difficult decision and you have many moral complexes involved, but isn't ending the pain of someone who is sick or mortally wounded merciful?

Greetings @pedrobrito2004, very interesting and controversial topic you comment. In it there are many points of view, in which there are those who are in favor under certain conditions and others who flatly discard such an option.
I personally believe that this, (the decision) should remain in the hands of the person who is going to practice such an action, but clear provided that the person can make the decision, because if the person is not fully aware would not be worth (to take the floor).
I have seen that this also applies or was applied in judicial measures in different prisons, once the prisoner was prosecuted for many or a certain amount of crimes, there I am not in favor, not because I want to save the life of someone who has done wrong, not because that kind of death would be a relief for that kind of person, would be like saying ok ready go and did all the wrong you did and already ...
In that case, only in that case would I let the option of euthanasia not even be an option for that person.
