The yearly firework display on the beach of l’Olla attracts many locals as well as tourists.

This event, held in honour of San Lorenzo, takes place the second weekend of August.
The pebbled beach on the outskirts of Altea, sees over 50.000 attendees each year, all enjoying this free pyrotechnic extravaganza.

If you want to attend make sure to be early, preferably before 21:00. The beach is jam-packed with families and groups of friends, most of which have brought their own food and drinks, as well as chairs and tables.
During the evening the atmosphere will build up, culminating in a 30/40 minute lasting display of fireworks, starting at midnight.

The fireworks are set off from a floating platform, so everyone has a great view.

If you come by car be prepared for a long wait when leaving after the display.

Bring food, drinks and something to sit on. Alternatively you can try to book a table with one of the restaurants overlooking the beach, but these are fully booked very quickly.
