Dazed Again

I'm still confused. Maybe you are too. I don't really know what happened this summer with the election and the fire and the brexit and the terror. And maybe it's because I've retreated to to the countryside or maybe I've stopped looking deeply at the FaceBooks or maybe it's because London Waterloo has been practically shut down for weeks but it seems like it just all went quiet, it was like someone did a massive mic drop and we're all just still going "huh?"

The season is turning. It's still summer, but there's a freshness in the air and everyone knows that soon it will be "Back to School" time. So I'm turning over in my mind the experience of May and June. I want to be holding and having conversations like the ones I had back then the "Election Daze" series, but I don't want to give myself the manic stress of a strict deadline, a huge target and constant fund raising/begging in order to get anything done. There has to be another way. It could even be a better way.

So I'm just starting out and talking to people. And writing a blog post of course.

The areas I'm interested in are:

Politics: Still, what are we doing? What's going on, this side of the pond and the other - and how about the other side of the Channel - or the other side of Eurasia?

Economics: how are we going to keep making a living? What is this crypto thing doing to us and what can we do to or with it? Is there an answer here? Is there something in the old collapsonomics idea? What? Who? See I'm just as dazed about this too. Are we on the edge of a precipice or the bottom of an abyss? Or maybe we really are on top of a sun-filled mountain and I just can't see it.

Social: men - what are we going to do with ourselves? This isn't just about white men either, although the hate is particularly piled up against us. What's the way forward for us as people? How can we create an equal society out of something that is so skewed and built on exploitation and oppression? What to do with the Pale, the Stale and the Male.

Technology: The four horsemen continue to gallop towards us - Blockchain, AI, VR/AR and IoT/Robots - new waves of innovation that each promise to turn everything upside down. How can we learn to surf the waves rather than being drowned in them?

So that's plenty.

And again, I'm looking at venues and prices and making a model of how to do this stuff (I did learn a lot from Election Daze) sustainably.

I need conversations like this, face to face and regularly.
