The culture of Unwelcoming Dereks

Once you are labelled as a "terrorist" of the game your petitions to have your case looked into by customer support falls on deaf ears.

Not only that, the Lead GM Arcade actively discourages you from still considering yourself welcome to the gaming community, the EVE Forums and the game entirely. Forever! Some Customer Support indeed.

So my outcry of help on the forums gets of course added to my lifetime ban on the forums AND because I evaded the ban in the first place which is another crime (I guess) I get a 30 day ban on my 4 active eve accounts and a final warning. Next time the Lead GM Arcade can and will ban me from EVE Online forever.

I am not the only one that has to deal with this incompetent CCP Customer Service Employee.

Moreover he accomplishes nothing because he doesn't truly represent CCP anyway because the company has always welcomed me in their fantastic MMORPG as a player for more than 11 years. They are simply unaware of the culture of unwelcoming Dereks that their game has fallen into.

Derek welcomes all forms of debate until he feels threatened and then lashes out playing his joker-card

Some things to point:

  • Ignores on any level delving into the subject matter itself
  • Never signs off with his name nor addresses the customer by name "Hey Lead GM Arcade here,"
  • Sees Customer Service and dealing with the customer in correspondence as "his duty"
  • Points at things (like Derek) and gives me a final warning doubling down on the customer to not being welcome anymore.
  • Has forgotten that he is Customer Support and probably doesn't consider me inclusive where he is tasked with: "CCP Player Experience | EVE Online".
