Evolution is a fact. Regardless of its explanatory coverage of biological life on earth, it is a principle that can be used to create things that are interatively selected to fit utility criteria.

When I build an algorithm the employs an evolutionary process, I don't bother to collect people's opinions about whether or not they believe it will work. Opinions regarding it are completely without value unless they manage to describe an actionably useful tool or method.
