For now, the good run continues with +0.35 units profit yesterday in the match between Genk and Mechelen. I aim to keep this going with 4 more matches on Saturday and Sunday...
Zulte-Waregem vs Standard
Zulte-Waregem is still last in the league but they for sure have picked up their form and are by no means a sitting duck. Last week they lost with a 2-1 score against Oostende which easily could have gone the other way and both matches before they managed to win. Overall, I'm quite positive when it comes down to betting on them as a potentially underrated team at the moment. They also have been an over home team with 63%+ of the goals coming in the 2nd half. Standard remains a team that under the right circumstances rise above their core quality which mostly happens at home against bigger teams. Their previous losses came away against Mechelen and at home against Seraing and I do see the match against Zulte today as a rather big candidate for a similar scenario. I did take a 0.3 unit bet on
Zulte-Waregem +0.25 @ 2.082. I'm also keeping my eye on the over and Zulte-Waregem Team Total over but have no real rush on those.
Westerlo vs Stvv
Westerlo is in 7th place and on average had a pretty good season so far and they can be somewhat compared in terms of quality to Stvv who currently are in 11th place. The main difference between these teams is that Westerlo has a more forward playing style while Stvv is more defensive-minded. This shows in goals scored (25 Westerlo vs 12 Stvv) and goals against (26 Westerlo vs 15 Stvv). So most likely this will turn into a game where the home team will take the initiative while the visitors will look to break out on the counters. Westerlo has been solid at home going 4W2L against the Asian handicap while Stvv has been solid away going 4W-2.5L-0.5P against the handicap. The total line is set as this will turn out into a really boring match but I don't exclude the possibility for this match to have more goals than generally expected to the point where I was willing to take a 0.1 unit gamble on
Over 3.5 @ 4.810. On paper, Westerlo should have the edge on the corners but based on the stats so far this isn't really indicated. Stvv never lost a corner matchup away against non-top teams while Westerlo lost 4 out of their last 5 corner matchups. My lean ins on Stvv as the underdog + the handicap since the match has a high draw probability.
Kortrijk vs Cercle Brugge
I have been backing Cercle Brugge these past 3 weeks successfully as they went on a winning streak. Along with this, their valuation is starting the alter on the betting market and they now are the -0.5 favorite in this away match against Kortrijk at below even odds. While I was looking to take a small bet on them at a -0.25 line at 1.80 odds, I have to stay away right now. Kortrijk is 17th in the league coming off 3 losses and a draw while key player Selemani is injured getting at least 2 goals against in those matches. So pretty much all indicators are in favor of Cercle and they are the team that I will be looking for in-game. For now, I'm forced to stick to
No Pre-Game bets
Club Brugge vs Oostende
Club Brugge got put with their feet on the ground in the Champions League match against Porto during the mid-week. They still have a team that potentially can easily win against any opponent if they are willing to up the pace and push. Things too often turn out in a situation where they just control things once they are in the lead though which often makes them fail to cover the handicap. Oostende has shown some potential but they rarely play well for 90 minutes, they also haven't had the best results recently against good teams 3-0 loss vs Antwerp, 1-6 loss against Union, 1-2 loss against Genk. Current -1.75 line for Club Brugge feels fair especially knowing they have another European match coming up next Tuesday. I'm just going to stay away from it for now.
