exchange_transfer_report_header.png

USD values are calculated per day via API feeds from Cryptocompare (for STEEM and SBD values in BTC) and Coindesk (for USD value of BTC). For the top 50 reports in USD terms, I take the average USD value for STEEM and SBD for the week using the daily closing price which came out to:

  • STEEM: $2.88952
  • SBD: $2.95956

Previous Report:

  • STEEM: $3.38924
  • SBD: $3.66543

Assumptions

Please see the first report for a detailed explanation of my personal assumptions related to what this data could mean (along with commentary on previous reports). What it does not show is people powering up, powering down, or if they are buying or selling on an exchange. It's just some interesting data dealing with transfers to and from exchange accounts.

Linked Accounts

hitbtc includes hitbtc-exchange and hitbtc-payout, freewallet.org includes freewallet, openledger includes openledger-dex, binance includes binance-hot and deepcrypto8, upbit includes upbit-exchange and myupbit, and gopax includes gopax and gopax-deposit.

Commentary

  • We've got a little over $610k heading to exchanges still. I wonder what will happen when that number goes way positive and people flood to STEEM to power up their accounts and earn influence?

  • The top of the deposit list belongs to @notar and @powerbank which are brand new accounts created this month by @booster. I still get confused why so many people use vote bots and want to be renters instead of owners.

  • The increase in people powering down next week is 0.95% in the red compared to the previous week.

I'm glad you enjoy them.

Now... about all that self-voting you do on all your comments...

Great job @lukestokes. With the numerous stats providers, i still find myself hooked to yours.
I was just wondering though if you could include the total of the deposits and the total of the withdrawals to the statistics.
Would be nice to know if there is a net increase in deposits or a net increase in withdrawals.

PS-If it won't be too much of a work

That's a good idea. I definitely should add that. Thank you!

I still get confused why so many people use vote bots and want to be renters instead of owners.

I get what you're saying and largely agree with it. But at the same time, I get it...for a relatively small amount of money, you can push your post to the top and get a ton of followers. And if you're smart about it, you can break even or earn a small profit on your vote buys.

We have yet to buy a single vote, but we could probably garner as many followers in one trending post as we've managed to accumulate in our last 30 posts.

However, I do not get why people are paying so much to rent SP! Lenders of SP have been making more than 50%/year without taking into account compounded interest. Wouldn't you want to be the one lending and not renting?

I hate the concept of vote buying and don't like that it has become so prevalent on Steem, but I think it's an unfortunate fact of life that it's here to stay :/

~Jordan

What we incentivize determines what stays.

I think many people just don't have a solid long-term foundational understanding of economic incentives. It's far beyond what value someone can extract today. They need to think in terms of long-term value, reputation, relationships, and how that leads to rewards. More on that here. Buying a vote may get you followers who want to follow vote buyers. Instead, consistently leaving truly valuable and informative comments on the wall of an influencer/interesting person/potential friend could lead to a life-long relationship as they engage in dialogue and follow you back. That, to me, is far more rational even from a "what's in it for me?" perspective. It goes along with making the world a better place because it's where I want to live. Add value to others because the people you want to be connected to appreciate value.

I completely agree that leaving thoughtful, valuable comments is what's going to build relationships and grow your following on here. In fact, a while back I wrote a post on my other account saying almost exactly that.

I think a majority of the unsuccessful users on Steemit aren't thinking long term. Of the successful ones, on the other hand, I think a lot more of them have a long-term view of things.

I guess people have this misconception about bots and their return, since the payment is in steem or SBD and the vote is in dollar, people see a bigger number that their payment and think they got a huge return.
it took me one time use of a bot to realize, it's better if I power up the money I wanted to spend on the bot.

I've been trying to help people think like investors and not like sheep. Hopefully they'll come around eventually.

So many people ask me how to have success here but few do what I do.

  1. Add value to other conversations and engage in meaningful dialogue.
  2. Power up rewards to reach your SP goals.
  3. Post valuable, educational, and interesting content.
  4. Don't quit.

That's pretty much it on repeat over and over again.

As the price of SBD is falling its a best time to invest in it, and I think it will give fruitful results in future, and May God listen my prayer and let me in the top 50 withdrawals. You always share valuable info, keep sharing such posts, thankyou

nice

Hello; are you on Discord I want to chat you up.

Nice post brother,
Visit my blog, winderfull aceh from indonesia

Thanks for sharing cryptocurrency update providing news.
I appreciate your every post.
This is good information...

Please, stop spamming useless comments.

Now is the best time to go for it. The value of steem and SBD are very low and I think it's going to go up now again hopefully. It might prove beneficial to invest in the crypto business and by that I refer to steem. Anyways thank you for the regular reports and keep us updated. Cheers

see the price movement steem and SBD at this time I feel lethargic

On Binance, we are not able to do SBD to BTC trades right?

Binance hasn’t listed SBD. It drives me nuts!

Great article, as always :)!

I have to say that I'm a little bit curious, where do you get all these stats for the top deposits and withdrawals etc.?

I wrote my own code to query the blockchain. You can see details in my first post in this series.

Alright, thanks!

nice

excellent..see some of my commetnary...1) the dollar is TOAST. 2.) Bitcoin after this weakness starts campaign to 40,000...silve MUCH MUCH higher..check it out..

Nice post 😍

i really like on the commentaries the way you allways launch your "wonders" anyway this week looks like your wonders are more optimistic, not saying it was pesimist in past tho.

about the investors renting, i guess it works like anything else in live when you rent anthing instead of owning it

ty @lukestokes

I have little time as your follower, your posts are very helpful to me. Thank you 👏 ))))))

this is a great update @lukestokes, the price of steem and sbd nowadays is kinda crucials based upn the highs and lows of the value.. I heard from others that the price of Sbd on the 15th will go up, any predictions on this?

p.s I just voted you as a witness. Cheers! :)
lukestokes.jpg

Thank you for your support.

I haven't heard anything about the price of SBD going up. I usually sell it as soon as I get it as I think STEEM is more valuable.

Great analysis from the guru @lukestokes.

Thank you for you article reports. I love to read them, because it could be an addition for me.
please guide me who is still beginner.

Hi @lukestokes thanks for the transfers report. Regarding your thoughts:

I still get confused why so many people use vote bots and want to be renters instead of owners.

My belief is perhaps they don't know the difference because they are new to steem? As there is no other blockchain doing what steem does in the way it does it.

By the way, I just posted a New Chapter of the Full Steemit Guide. Your thougths and support in the past will always be appreciated!
