Kyrie gasped for air as she woke with a sudden jolt to the relentless beeping of her alarm. Time had stopped seconds before her alarm went off. She attributed this peculiar sensation to the weird dream she had just woken from. Yet, the cold sweat on her brow and nervousness still vibrating in her bones told a different story. She shook the feeling away as she tried to recall the dream.

It wasn’t too difficult considering that this was not the first time she had dreamt this particular dream. Last month had been the first time she had experiences what she called the nothingness. She had had been floating in this nothingness, but not really. It was as if she existed but not really existing at all. She had been surrounded by a fierce flooding light. This light was like no other Kyrie had seen or observed in real life. It was so bright that it could almost not be seened. It was as if she had lost her sight, but instead of being thrown into complete darkness she was emerged in a sea of light.

When she thought of the nothingness she thought about plasma. The light had almost an airy liquidy feeling to it. She was swimming and flying all at the same time. Her whole dream really was quite paradoxical. She felt the constant pressure of the nothingness closing in on her. She equated it to the idea of existing in a mother’s womb. She felt safe and secure but at the same time suffocated and needing to escape.

There was no sound, just silence. The silence was so loud that she could almost hear it. It created almost a ringing and buzzing sensation. She felt as if it would swallow her whole. She moved around frantically trying to find her heartbeat and breath. There was none.

Even though she could not see her body she knew it had to have been there. This had been because of the taste and smell in her dream. She didn’t know of anyone who tasted and smelled in their dreams, bus she obviously did. So much that she could taste and smell it even after waking up. It was a metallic acid smell and taste. It almost left a bitter taste in her mouth, yet it wasn’t unpleasant.
