Weight Loss Journey #1: Holding myself accountable

in exercise •  7 years ago

The school years coming up soon; time to lose atleast 8 pounds.

I'm still a high schooler, I know this isn't something that I shouldn't worry about too much as I'm not super overweight, but I could shed a few pounds.

I'm a basketball player, although I currently don't play for a travel team. I try to play everyday, but I can't go to the court everyday at the moment, but soon I will be able to.

As of now, I weigh in the 170s at 5'7. My goal is 155-160.

My plan:

Although I won't have a set "workout" I want to be doing something everyday that I can be proud of. Not just ten pushups here, 5 squats there. I want to be doing atleast 100 pushups, and 100 squats a day, so I can be proud of myself. When I do go to the courts, I play for about 3-6 hours, usually an hour of warmup, and the rest is either hard practice, or pick up games (1v1, 2v2, etc). So that'll be counted as workout for the day also.

I know its not super specific, but I'm going to be eating healthier. Cutting off the chocolate bar here, the bag of hot fries there. For breakfast, I have no idea how to make eggs or whatever, so I'll probably stick to toast or like a sandwich, I want to stay away from cereal for now.

So here we go. I'll try to update daily, but no promises.
