Insecurity after losing weight

in exercise •  6 years ago

When most people think about having a fitness body, what they really think is that they will get the secret of self-confidence.

We have been conditioned to the idea that when we work hard to transform our bodies to look good, we will automatically look happy and feel safe. But unfortunately, this is not always the case.

There are many people who, in spite of achieving the goals they had set themselves and fulfilling each of the objectives, do not reach the point of self-esteem and self-confidence they were looking for. What's more, it's quite often the case that the opposite happens, much worse than before.

The main reason is the huge investment in advertising designed and oriented to manipulate people. To make people believe that the only thing that stands between you and your dream life is the shape of your body. This type of marketing is effective because people want to believe it. The problem is not difficult to solve.

Focusing on how you see yourself all the time, even in a positive way, strengthens the link between appearance and self-esteem. But what happens when you get used to your new body and the compliments diminish? who else are you? what else do you have to offer people? what else do you have to trust?

Your sense of self-esteem must be linked to something that cannot be changed, not something that is naturally meant to be changed.
