Batman’s house Parkrun

I just finished a 4.98km running that lasted about 0hh:23mm:42ss !

Wollaton Park held its first Parkrun this morning so I went down with a handful of people from the club. The house was used as “Wayne Manor” in The Dark Knight Rises so, to my kids, it is Batmans house.
Beautiful morning. Bright & still.
Tough course! I’ve done a few 10k races at this park & they hold the Nottingham XC championships here too. For the 5k you run uphill for maybe the first KM then down hill, then it’s flat whilst you loop around a lake, back up hill, down to the finish. It’s nice that it’s only 1 loop, i’m not keen on the PR’s where you have to do 3 loops of somewhere.
Anyway placed 102, 16th female & 2nd for age. Not bad. Came within 5% of my PR pb so i’ll get some points for the cup, which I’m currently leading 😁
Afterwards I couldn’t stay with the team for the celebratory coffee & cake as I had 1hr to drive to work, get showered & out on the ward for my shift!! So it had to be coffee & cake in Costa later on
