Wrongfully Imprisoned Exoneree Admitted to the US Supreme Court

According to the Innocence Project, Anthony Robinson, an African American male who served 13 years for a crime he didn't commit was admitted to appear before the highest court in the US this past week. Congratulations Anthony!

In 1987, Texas tried and convicted Robinson of rape, despite problematic eye-witness testimony and improper forensic evidence. His victim was white. He was sentenced to 27 years but was paroled in 1997, after 10 years. That's when he raised his own funds for a DNA test. The state confirmed the results and pardoned him in 2000. He was compensated based on Texas statute but the amount was inadequate at that time. No amount will buy him his life back. Unfortunately, his story is too common.

With the help and support of a Texas state senator, Robinson also obtained a law degree and built a successful solo practice. Now, he has the right to appear before the US Supreme Court. It was a journey fraught with tragedy but he made it.

Classic example of justice gone wrong, and the sad thing is this is just one of probably thousands of people who are doing time, having done nothing. Sorry state of affairs if you ask me.
