When you live in a single place you get habituated and forget that the place you live in might have some sites that attract tourists.
According to some polls I’ve seen recently, Kyoto has been cited as one of the most popular tourist destinations. Not entirely sure why because it’s not that great city in my mind anyway. The best of the city is really nice, but for the most part it is just like any other Japanese city: a concrete jungle home to enslaved, workaholic males, a few females, and lots of housewives with lots of time on their hands.
But I digress .
Tis springtime and in spite of the Japanese cedar pollen still flying about the air everywhere here, this time of year is always joyous. This winter was long and cold, and when you factor in the lack of insulation in schools, office buildings, in your apartment or house, it’s a little challenging dealing with life here.
Now, however, the sun shines strongly, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, those six-legged creepy crawlers are emerging more and more...
Happy New Year! Happy Noruz!
I’m no longer a young whippersnapper, and as I continue aging the arrival of another spring is another personal milestone:
I survived another winter. I didn’t die of the flu or pneumonia. In winter‘s dark days I didn’t sink into depression, nor did I even think of doing with millions of Americans do: popping another Zoloft. I tape my mouth closed at night, and perhaps that’s why that for the first time in many years I didn’t get a wintertime cold.
It’s approaching 24 hours since I wrote my first part of this blog entry and once again I can see my four-legged furry friend’s body language telling me he wants to lose some weight.
Assuming he can hold, I just want to say hello to everyone and I’m going to use this platform to rant about this or that. I’ve thought about starting a Steemit blog for at least six months now because writing is a basic human skill, like reading, cooking and satisfying your partner in the sack.
My dog just came up to be stared me in the eyes meaning he wants to get the fuck out of here.
I shall return.
