1. Traveling improves your health
Traveling has many health benefits, including reducing stress and lowering your risk of developing heart disease. While you may be content to sit at your desk all day, walking around on your trip will make your body feel more relaxed. Wandering abroad can be a great way to relieve anxiety and depression. Although it is not a miracle cure, it can help you feel better both psychologically and physically.
2. Traveling allows you to disconnect from your daily life
Sometimes, we get so involved in our daily lives, that sometimes by just sticking around, it can cause more harm than good. Is your boss taking control of your life? Are your kids driving you crazy? Are your parents trying to force you to live the life you want? You are under pressure to live a happy life. How long can you handle it? Travel is a great option. It is the best way to feel like you're missing someone or are being missed.
3. Traveling allows you to try amazing food
It is impossible to try a local dish from another country. Do not let yourself be fooled into visiting the Sushi shop next to you. You will discover the true taste of food as you travel. It's often very different from what your familiar with. The flavors are unique.
4. Traveling Makes You Feel Like An Adventurer
It is very motivating to make a list of the places you would like to visit. It gives you something to work towards. The upside to traveling to new places is that you have to confront the unknown and consider other options. It doesn't take a whole month to spend time in the jungle. Even if you live in a big city, a weekend hike will be enough to make you feel new. Adventures require novelty, so get out of your comfort zone.
5. Traveling expands your (real) social network
Social Networks were once real, in real life. It's crazy, I know. It's one of my favorite things about traveling. I believe that building connections and establishing networks abroad is one the most important things you can do today. Although it can be difficult to establish a lasting relationship with people you meet overseas, it is worth it. Take this example: Last year's New Years Eve I spent in Tanzania. Two days of sleep I spent in the flat of an Egyptian expat. He was a Couch surfer, which is one of the best ways to travel cheaply.
