Contrary to what my colleagues of the Islam religion has been saying about their believe on wastage especially foods while i was back in my home country Nigeria( especially while eating, they believe every piece of the food must be utterly destroyed, i hope you understand ) , reverse is the case even in a place well recognized to be one of the pre-eminent islamic country Dubai as most of their life encourages extravagance which altimately lead to wastage. So far I've had the opportunity to explore from three different sectors or probably a working environment.
- The home furnishing
- The Restaurant
- Security sector.
In all this three sectors, there has been a huge display of wastage even though they hardly produce anything by themselves due to massive importation of goods and food crops. What a typical carpenter will make a judicious use to construct a full set of chairs is a food for the dustbin in UAE.
What baffles me at the restaurant level has to do with the reason for purchasing a food which is not your spec therby wasting a huge chunk of it or not touching at all, why park at a 250dirhams parking space when there are 20 and 30 dirhams space respectively if not for a staged platform for wastage and extravagance.
Yes, i know you'll ask me, whats my main concern?
If extravagance is their lifestyle, they should let the Africans enjoy more of their money rather than paying them peanuts(thats the story for another day). parked at the 250dirhams per hour lot. Where if done for 4 hours it has already paid my salary for a whole month of hard toil.a paid for but seemingly untouched lessoto rice...share wasteful and extravagance lifestyle.
