Bumps & Bruises - When Girls Play With Surfboards... And Win!! 😜 [New Surf Video Inside]

in extremesports β€’Β  6 years agoΒ  (edited)

If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must got beyond them. - Bruce Lee

I couldn't have said it any better, Bruce.

That's one of the reasons why I feel so much pleasure in practicing extreme sports: they teach us how fulfilling it can be to go there where it hurts and beyond.

I can wholeheartedly affirm that my self-confidence and self-esteem have considerably grown since I began to surf.

Ultimately, stretching your limits will help you to stretch your mind.

Don't avoid the bruises, they prove that you showed up for life - and won!

The legacy.

Most of the time my knees look like those of a little boy who was given a skateboard on his 5th birthday.

Bumps, bruises and cuts are my favorite body paintings, and honestly: I'm totally fine with it.

Those scars are like stories, history written on a body, my personal PoL - Proof of Life.

During today's session I added a couple of new marks: a cut on my left knee and my right foot as well as some bruises.

Pain is relative if you're given with some nice waves in return...πŸ˜‰

Have fun watching my today's Proof of Surf :

I hope you enjoyed these 3 minutes of bundled surfing passion - as well as my new bruise collection 😜

There's more to come, so stay tuned.

Much love,
Marly -

Awesome advice! The best things in life take some strength, effort, endurance, and a little bit of pain tolerance sometimes!

It's storm season over in this part of the world. Maybe I can get in a bit of surfing on a calm day near Tofino!

Love what you're doing with the surf community on here -- keep it up!

Resteemed to the EXHAUST frontpage!

Thanks a lot for your support!!

Now i remember which was the project i wanted to feature in my blog, hehe. Appreciated the reminder :-) I really like its idea and hope more extreme sportspeople will discover and use it in the future.

Steem on!

Hello Surfermarly,
Thanks for sharing your session!
Maybe get some Calendula creme for your battle wounds! Have you tried it? Calendula is another miracle of nature EVERY med kit should include! Also Arnica creme for bruises and contusion and Comfrey creme for broken and fractured bones - all fantastic and are way better than any so called modern medicines - I have used these 3 herbs above all my life and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Upvoted and resteemed :D

@icedrum have you heard of @naturalmedicine here? It's a community of crew into natural healing. You might be interested - they are my go to herbs as well! We've got a competition on that starts tomorrow, and you talking about these 3 herbs would be a PERFECT entry to this!!! The theme is survival. I just happened to see this comment and thought - aha!!

Oh my god I was full of scrapes growing up - they were a mark that I was one of hte boys really, though I hate that now - what I was was ME, just having a go. I still have scars on my feet from fin cuts, I used to do this stupid foot wrap around thing when I duck dived and sliced my feet really badly, stitches and all, I still can't flex that foot as much as I used to. And then learning to SUP ten years ago, that first summer of waves, falling over all the time. The board I rode had a rough sandy surface, not grip, you know? And my toes were just bleeding messes from kneeling in wind trying to stand up, and I had bruises all over my shins from falling onto the board over and over and over - far out. I learnt at 37 and felt like a kid again, but gee it was awesome, and now I am still surfing waves on a SUP - I rarely fall off, but a couple of months ago I went out stupidly in the wind, like far too windy, which I can kinda hack, but the waves were bigger than I thought and I went to go over the top of one and the wind blew the board back and it slammed between my paddle and board and I ripped my finger open. Lucky this surf school guy was on the beach and carried my board up (it was down a long flight of stairs) and he gave me his apple. He was cute too. I could play the defenseless woman then, fuck it hurt and my legs went shaky - it was so windy and there was blood every where and I was kinda worried about sharks lol.
