The prophet Ezekiel: This is what the Sovereign LORD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer. Ezekiel 12:28

The book of Ezekiel consists fundamentally of a series of spiritual revelations that the prophet Ezekiel received from God. In these revelations Ezekiel received the title of "son of man", Jesus and the prophet Daniel also received the same title, what this designation is telling us is that Ezekiel was the personification of the perfections of God. In simpler terms what this is indicating to us is that Ezekiel was probably a person filled with the holy spirit, or that he was filled with the grace of wisdom. In Ezekiel a Biblical requirement was fulfilled: "You must be perfect with your God" Deuteronomy 18:13.
But despite that he was in communion with God, Daniel's revelations did not have much echo in his time, because his words were addressed to a rebellious people: "You have been more unruly than the nations around you and have not followed my decrees or kept my laws" Ezekiel 5:7.
Many of Ezekiel's prophecies are difficult to interpret and perhaps some are still to be fulfilled, but most were addressed to the people of his time, Ezekiel prophesied a judgment from God that would come with the destruction of Jerusalem.
For this reason, in one of his oracles, he warned the inhabitants of the kingdom of Judah that they should correctly interpret the signs of the times, because the Lord would not take long to fulfill what was prophesied.
So were the words of God addressed to Ezekiel:
"The word of the LORD came to me: ´Son of man, the Israelites are saying, ´The vision he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies about the distant future.´
´Therefore say to them, ´This is what the Sovereign LORD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign LORD´´´" Ezekiel 12:26-28.
The teachings of Ezekiel show us the importance of prophecy, something that Jesus continually reminds us with the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-13.
