Tested for two years across the Atlantic, the "Take Distances" function, proposed especially after a change of love status, has just arrived in France. Thanks to it, you can now hide your publications from the eyes of some friends, and no longer receive theirs in your newsfeed.
To do this, you must click on the "friend" icon in the profile of the person you want to move away from. This brings up a drop-down menu containing the function. If you do not see it, be sure to check for updates to the app, and if you are up to date, then wait because the deployment is still in progress. From a PC, just go to this page, which you can also find via the search engine of the social network.
Note that several levels of filtering are proposed. You can choose to simply limit the display of a friend's posts, or also limit that friend's access to your posts, or to hide old posts where you are identified. Here again, several sub-levels of filters are available.
Finally, Facebook recalls that other methods exist to distance oneself from someone, such as archiving your conversation or downright blocking / removing the person from your friends list.
