Facebook has over 2 billion monthly active users making it the first Social Media to reach such an enormous reach. But now many users around the globe have complained against the website and app’s performance, and social media website also declares that the services have been restored.

“Previously, a technical issue instigated some people to suffer while trying connecting to both Facebook & Instagram. They tried to resolve this issue for every user, and also apologized for any troublesomeness," emailed by the Facebook spokesperson itself.

The United States especially the northeast was firstly hit the hardest by the outage in comparison to other major urban areas in the country reporting on the West Coast outages as well, according to the website Down Detector. The website was also down in central Mexico, parts of South America, and in Europe.

A later look at an outage map showed conditions getting better in the Americas, and a growing number of reported outages in Europe. Outages in the UK were concentrated around Birmingham, London, and Manchester. Outages in coastal Europe were concentrated in the Netherlands, Belgium, around Paris, around Berlin, and around Warsaw.

Starved of their latest dose of Facebook, some users gathered in Twitter conversation to confirm that the other site also having similar issues. Following are some straight forward tweets by the users worldwide using “hashtags ‘#facebookdown”;

  1. "When Facebook goes down, I go to twitter to see if it is a real deal,"
  2. "Yes, I'm not the only one with #facebookdown."
  3. "#Facebook is not working properly right now," another user wrote. "#facebookdown."
Facebook didn’t respond immediately to a request for comment, and for an explanation of what had instigated the blackout. Meanwhile, more Twitter users posted a warning tweets for still having same issues and is there any solution to overcome from this.
  1. "I repeat. Facebook is down," a third user posted, using the hashtag alongside a gif from the popular television show The Office in which Michael Scott pushes past his employees to leave the building during an emergency.
  2. "Everybody stay calm! Everybody stay calm!" Scott says in the gif.
In some Asian countries like India, Indonesia and Malaysia, there were also dispersed reports of outages but fortunately the areas were not smashed so hard.
