WOW! Facebook is banning all ads for bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and ICOs!!!

@Jerrybanfield did an incredible post of how he's advertising on Facebook, Google, and Youtube to reach potential users who could come over to Steemit. There's been more than 2.6 Million Facebook who have seem his Steemit ads! That's fantastic, because I believe that everyone deserves to be on Steemit. It's an amazing platform. Here's the article https://steemit.com/budget/@jerrybanfield/h2jl7o95

Breaking news just now is that Facebook is banning all advertisements for Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and ICOs!!!

Here's the article from Business Insider. http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-bans-bitcoin-cryptocurrency-ico-ads-2018-1

Their reasoning behind it is "to crack down on scams. Cryptocurrencies are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive practices," it said.

Earlier today, a Crypto coin company ‘disappears with millions’, leaving one-word message: ‘Penis

Scams do happen every day. What do you think of Facebook blocking all crypto advertising? Is this a good thing?

If this happens, I doubt that it will last. Facebook is all about that money. Plus you are on the right platform anyways! #steemit!!!!

yessir, I'm all about that Steemit!

Awful choice by Facebook @dwade1. If I'm into crypto or bitcoin, I most likely want to see ads about it. Who does Facebook think they are? I'm fairly certain they've also done this with medical marijuana, guns, and other sensitive categories. Apparently a Bitcoin company can't advertise on there, but they don't have an issue with Russia placing ads designed to stroke hatred & division within our country!

...or perhaps Facebook is getting ready to launch their own coin...?

@geoffreydemars you're absolutely right!

I feel this is good and will help protect some people from scams .i my self am a person who has came across scammers on Instagram just asking to see how much BTC i have .

I was going to make a video about this but ultimately couldn't figure out how I felt about it. On one hand, a lot of people have lost money from deceptive crypto advertisement. Also, IPOs arent allowed to advertise, so why should ICO be allowed to?

On the other hand, this is extraordinarily convenient timing for Facebook. Feels a little like Facebook is trying to censor something, because of its potential impact on Facebook.

Only time will tell. good write up!

Thank you for the shoutout in the article! Fortunately I have a new system to work around the ban :)
