The way I see it Social Media is a problem but then again so are the violent video games, television, radio, drinking water with fluoride, GMO's in our food, chemicals in our daily soaps etc. Social media is just one of the many things today that control our brains/minds. I think it depends what you want to take away from it. Kids today are subject to all of these things and not just social media that's influencing them. It's up to parents and schools to educate our kids about the good and bad in these subjects. It's all here to stay so we just need to logically deal with it. There are also much worse things on the internet that our kids should be protected against. Unfortunately governments have conveniently failed us. It's all about money & tax collection.

Mankind has a history of enslavement. It changes packaging, but it's always there. I wish people would just wake up. The blockchain movement is one way we can take back control, but people won't step out of their comfort zone. I've written a book about it, now I'm doing videos too ... people look at me as if I am crazy. As a very old joke goes, "I might be crazy but I'm not stupid!"

I disagree. Saying this or that is the problem is precisely why we are held hostage. This is giving up control to an external power. I say that we don't need to 'protect' our children as all it does is leave them vulnerable. We need to shield them only as long as they are capable of rational thought. We should teach them not to be sheep, and to think for themselves. Is this a good thing?

As soon as people think more, society changes. I'm not saying it is easy. I'm saying that for true freedom, education is key, and it starts with parents, not teachers or the Internet. Social Media didn't start out being 'bad'. Decades ago, it started out as a wonderful way to meet people online. Now, people have turned into something less that desirable, and gave it the name of 'Social Media'. We just called it the 'Internet' and 'real people on the net' years ago.

In my opinion, children should not even be on general Social Media. It's an adult place. We don't allow kids to go to a bar and drink, but it's okay for them to watch violence, sexual content, and play amongst adults online.

I agree, humans made social media in their own image. Humans are flawed so social media is to.

I think that this is what we are supposed to think. Social Media is not flawed at all. It's exactly what the people who control it want it to be.

For many people, Social Media is telling them what to think, or at least what they should be thinking. The news feed is force-fed to people. I miss the Facebook from 8 years ago. I actually wanted to look at it, keen to see what my friends were up to.
