Facebook attacks Virtual Currencies: No ads anymore!

in facebook •  7 years ago

Facebook is doing its part to stop the proliferation of virtual currencies. It seems like they do not want to embrace the new technology. This is very good news for Steemit, which relies on its virtual currency Steem.

Examples of such ads that would no longer be allowed: "Use your retirement funds to buy Bitcoin!” and “Click here to learn about our no-risk cryptocurrency that enables instant payments to anyone in the world.”

Here virtual currencies can promote their projects still and have an audience that understands something about the technology.

It is a pity though that the number of cryptoenthusiasts is throttled by Facebook, a dying, strictly censored platform.

Good times ahead for free speech advocates like the Steemit-Platform!

I wonder if Steemit would be allowed to place ads... in the end it is not Steem... or d.tube for that matter...

I think Jerry Banfield placed some ads on Facebook??

yes jerry banfield is doing project 'budget' to promote steem ...he also make a post in which mention that steemit ad is clicked by 2 million people on facebook

I think they have prevented the defamation of news ico

They believe that they are stealing and stealing people's money

Why is Facebook relevant anymore? They don't care about all the other spam you see on the site. They're afraid of being spanked by the government for letting people have freedom.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. FB is already crammed with fake news, scamming ads and links to virus ridden websites. Anyone who uses it to make financial decisions probably deserves to be ripped off...
Just saying.

@mexbit, That would be best news for steemit. Mark Zuckersburg decided to stop crypto related add in FB. With that decision stay yet virtual money in steemit. Thanks for details.

@mexbit

The sad news for many who actively promoted the idea of the Steemit in the Facebook , but seen under the pressure of someone, they took this step. As for advertising on the Steemit, everything is possible and can even conduct a survey on this topic among users. Thank you @mexbit

I enjoyed reading your post. There is a lot of good stuff.
@mexbit Resteemed.

I wonder if Steemit would be allowed to place ads

There are both things indeed. We have best news also we have sad news. With Mark's action stay virtual currency in steem. In fact, Mark has been jealous condition about steemit. Because mark's can't any system for hold their users there. More FB users registered here and then didn't go again to FB. We all FB stop using.

Adsactly Bravo, Bravo!! Your post are really Mewtacular!. It inspires me to be a better me. I am learning so
much not only from the information on your post, but also about presentation and design. Thank you!

I don't get it, why is he afraid of virtual currencies?

If we have to be honest, a friend of mine lost 1000$ dollars from an "ICO", he saw on Facebook.

Also I am sick of seeing fake ads and trading software. Since I am using Steemit, I hardly use FB, but I don't think this is the end of the world or this is some kind of "war" against crypto. It's just business.

Twitter will take the vacant place, Dorsey is super PRO crypto or super anti Zuckerberg, not sure.

P.S. 2 weeks ago Zuckerberg announced that he will look into blockchain technology, so I don't think this is an attack :) Cheers :P

That's the preparation of ltc and facebook fussion. Of course they want to concentrate and do that they should mute those noisy shitcoins and stupid slow old bitcoin.

In my opinion, this is really a good news for all of the users who used FB because in this way they all come to steemit social platform then this way steemit will grow fast in no time.

There are numbers of other platforms where people can promote steemit by advertising not only FB platform. If they stopped that be okay with it.

As twitter owner Dorsey have taken good step to promote more steemit platform. ❤️

It might be a stupid decision of Facebook Owner Mark but nothing is gone still. Steemit still survive without ads on FB. They can't bear the other social platforms come like steemit. BTW, Facebook is already flooded with fake news and stupid types ads then why they got decision of banning all cryptocurrencies ads. :/

that's more like if you can't beat them ban them hahaha

@mexbit - Sir FB understood it can't win over STEEMIT & now trying to absorb technology... It's a good news for all active FB people, but I think STEEMIT is the best... This is the most powerful blockchain at the moment... Nice discussion Sir...

I do not think Steemit will get an ad. structurally very different from facebook. @mexbit

Really wonderful post doing great job keep it up @mexbit

It sure is a good news !It does seems like they are kinda worried about virtual currencies in a way ;)
However even they can not stop the growth of cypto as in near future it will be in mass !

I'm glad this is happening @mexbit. It shows that we're on the right network. There's a saying that goes 'The second mouse always gets the cheese'.

steemit has got a big opportunity to shine more now time to grab this opportunity resteemed this amazing post

Facebook seems to be fearing from the rise of crypto ...resteem

No more censorship dictators we need that's why left fb way before

we are great steemians will rock during this time when others don't give freedom

well one day facebook will ban mark too hahha he is getting pissed off lol

no one would like this approach of fb team this is like dictatorship going on

facebook haha feeling sad for them what will happen with those in next years

facebook is ruining the free speech and content i will spread the world about this on my blog by resteeming

say hi to your future master! I predict that by 2018 Mark Zuckerberg will gain full control of Steemit through a… by io-io-io.

Awwww they showed their cards and now the world knows what they are all about.

All that money, and still no penny to spend on a decent haircut?
